Christmas Food Drive 2011

The Christmas holidays are almost here! It is at this time that we ask our customers to participate in the Christmas food drive. We have had tremendous success in the past years with the food drive. This success is all because our customers have generously donated food and given monetary donations to help others in need.
If possible, please donate 5 cans of food or 5 jars of baby food or 2 small bags of sugar, flour, cornmeal, baking mix, rice or beans. Other non-perishable food items will be accepted. Out-dated or opened items will NOT be accepted.
The food will be donated to area churches for Christmas food baskets and food ministries in the area. Donations may be brought to the CCTC office until December 18th. In appreciation of your donation, your name will be placed
in a drawing for a $50 credit to your CCTC phone bill.

Cell Phones for Soldiers a Success

coopSanta Anna and Coleman, TX., July 11, 2011– With the help of the citizens of Coleman County, CCTC has collected 151 used phones and two large boxes of chargers, batteries, and other accessories for Cell Phones for Soldiers. Each phone collected provides our troops serving overseas an hour of phone time with their loved ones, so that means we will provide soldiers with 151 hours of communication.
The drive took place from Monday, May 30, Memorial Day, through Monday, July 4, Independence Day. Local residents were encouraged to drop off their old cell phones at the offices of CCTC and the Coleman Chronicle & Democrat-Voice. The phones will now be sent to ReCellular, which pays Cell Phones for Soldiers for each donated phone.
Tim Humpert, General Manager of CCTC, would like to thank everyone who participated in the drive. “Each donated cell phone allows Cell Phones for Soldiers to fulfill the mission of providing our service men and women with the opportunity to communicate with loved ones for free,” says Humpert. “On behalf of Cell Phones for Soldiers and the troops that benefit from your generous donation, thank you!”
