Foundation for Rural Service College Scholarship Program

Area high school seniors are encouraged to apply for scholarships sponsored by the Foundation for Rural Service. Established in 1994, FRS, in cooperation with NTCA-The Rural Broadband Association, seeks to sustain and enhance the quality of life throughout rural America by advancing an understanding of rural telecommunications issues. In keeping with its mission, furthering the education of rural youth is one of the foundation’s primary focuses. Our company, Coleman County Telephone Cooperative, Inc. (CCTC) is a member of NTCA and is proud to support FRS in this worthy endeavor.

As your local telecommunications service provider, it is our pleasure to offer this national scholarship program. Should a student from our service area be selected to receive one of the 30 scholarships ($2000 each), we will contribute an additional $500 to the scholarship, bringing the total one-time scholarship award to $2500. Students may also be eligible for four FRS Staurulakis Family Scholarships valued at $5000 each, the Everett Kneece Scholarship for $7000, or for two TMS Scholarships at $1500 each. Students who are majoring in math, science, engineering, or medicine are given preference for the FRS Staurulakis Family Scholarships.

You must have service with CCTC for your senior to be eligible. This includes telephone, DSL, and Wireless broadband in the city of Coleman and surrounding areas, etc. Ask us if you’re not sure about your eligibility and we will be glad to help! Visit the FRS website at https://www.frs.org/programs/scholarships for more information and to apply!

Completed applications should be sent directly to FRS, postmarked no later than March 1 of the calendar year. Applications postmarked to FRS after this date will NOT be accepted. Please note that each application must bear a manager’s signature to be considered eligible.
